Our Membership Tiers
A Commitment to Community and Practice
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the Virginia Ki Society, our mission is to make the practice of Aikido accessible to everyone while ensuring the long-term health of our dojo. Our pricing is not designed for profit, but for sustainability. We have structured our membership tiers to reflect this mission, inviting you to choose the level of support that is right for you.
Community Access Membership: $40 / month
This introductory tier is offered as part of our non-profit mission to make practice available to all, regardless of financial circumstances. It provides access to one regular class per week (Fundamentals of Bodymind Oneness, Fundamentals of Ki-Aikido, or Ki-Aikido) and is intended for those who need a more accessible entry point to our community.
Basic Membership: $75 / month • $190 / quarter • $640 / year
This tier grants full access to our regular classes: Fundamentals of Bodymind Oneness, Fundamentals of Ki-Aikido, and Ki-Aikido. It is our foundational rate, offered at a price well below the area's market value to ensure our dedicated members can continue their practice without financial strain. (Does not include Monthly Special Topic Classes)
Sustaining Membership: $125 / month • $190 / quarter • $640 / year
This tier represents the true sustainable market value for full access to all our classes, including Monthly Special Topic Classes. Choosing this level means you are covering the dojo's operational costs and directly contributing to its stability and future. Your commitment at this level ensures we can continue to provide high-quality instruction and a welcoming space for all.
Supporting Membership: $126 – $249 / month • $310 / quarter • $1050 / year
For members who are in a position to give more, the Supporting Membership provides vital assistance that allows us to offer our Community Access tier and invest in the dojo's growth. As we are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit, any amount paid above the $125 Sustaining Membership rate may be considered a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
Patron Membership: $250+ / month • $630+ / quarter • $2140+ / year
Becoming a Patron is a profound act of generosity that has a significant impact on our dojo. Your support at this level ensures the long-term legacy of our practice in the community, funds special projects, and helps us weather any unforeseen challenges. All contributions above the $125 Sustaining rate may be tax-deductible.
Financial Assistance: Financial hardship is not a barrier to sincere training. Please talk with an instructor if none of the options above work for you.
We are deeply grateful for every member of our community. Your participation and support at any level are what bring our dojo to life.
(Please consult with a tax professional regarding the deductibility of your contributions.)
